An Invitation to Wellness: Interest Finder

(To download and print the above flyer, click here.)

If your congregation would like to develop your wellness ministry, please consider joining us (Beth Scibienski, Jeff Vamos, Dor Mullen and Cindy Wilcox) for a workshop to learn about The Suppers Programs.

Suppers is a learn-by-doing program where people come together to cook, to eat, and to support each other’s intentions to lead a healthier life. Meetings have been running for a year at the Sand Hills Wellness Center at Grace Presbyterian Church, and we’d like to grow new meetings in houses of worship with kitchens. We’re sending you this interest finder to see how you would like to include food and health in your community’s dialogue.

The Suppers way of cooking and eating (all natural foods, from scratch) addresses the wide range of preventable problems that people suffer when they consume processed foods and beverages. Physicians refer to Suppers when they know their patients need to change their diet and lifestyle because of:

  • Anxiety and depression
  • Diabetes
  • Obesity
  • Learning issues
  • Inflammatory conditions
  • Problems with alcohol
  • And social isolation

Jeff Vamos will host An Introduction to Suppers in Faith Communities workshop at The Presbyterian Church of Lawrenceville on Monday, February 27 from 6:00 to 8:30. If you’re interested in learning more, please complete the interest finder below. We ask for $10 to cover the cost of your food.
