What to Expect

You can expect that everyone who attends has a personal reason to attend a meeting where whole ingredients are turned into delicious meals and people are eager to have a corrective social experience related to problems with the processed food supply. You can expect that the facilitator will create a warm and friendly setting, maintaining a non-judgmental environment and gently choreographing the proceedings such that everyone who wants to gets the chance to speak.

Most meetings start with the preparation of a meal. It might be vegan, vegetarian or omnivore, and it's always announced. Newcomers may be taken aside for the first few minutes for an orientation. Prep is followed by the eating of the meal and sharing on an announced topic. This may involve a reading, a presentation, and a facilitated discussion, followed by clean up. Beyond these basics, meetings are unique and driven by passionate, trained volunteers whose dietary offerings vary but whose dedication to whole food preparation unifies them as Suppers facilitators.
