Counselors
What’s here for counselors and addictions professionals?
This section contains articles that may be useful to professionals who work with people who have health, mental health, or
recovery issues. The message is the same as for the rest of the web site, but there are citations. Support for long term
health or recovery that includes the physical body and purports to be holistic must address the biochemical realities
underlying craving, mood swings, seeking behaviors, learning problems, depression, and anxiety.
None of these ideas is new, but they are not part of our counseling core curriculum, and they are not featured in the
discipline’s literature. Readers are welcome to reproduce any portion of these documents with due credit.
