Beth and Eavan's Saturday Meeting for Sobriety, Princeton Junction (bimonthly) (DS001)

Join Beth and Eavan, both trained chefs, for this farm-to-table event to explore culinary supports for more stable sobriety. We will prepare delicious, mood-stablizing meals together from fresh produce and learn which foods make us feel the most energized, satisfied and happy. Our meeting is appropriate for people in recovery who want to connect with others who value whole food preparation and have a mutual desire to eat according to our intentions instead of our impulses.

Quarterly, last Saturday of month. Meetings are tentatively scheduled for January, April, July and October.

Menu: Omnivore

Beth is currently the Director and co-founder of the New Jersey Farm to School Network, a non-profit whose mission is to connect regional farms to schools to promote local purchasing and to encourage K-12 school garden education. She is co-founder of the West Windsor Community Farmers Market in central New Jersey, which celebrates its 11th season in 2014 with 26 vendors, including 15 farms. Beth is a graduate of the French Culinary Institute and holds an undergraduate degree from Rutgers University School of Journalism and Media Studies. She represents the NJ Farm to School Network as the state lead agency to the National Farm to School Network.

Eavan is a private chef and recovery cook with a lifelong commitment to clean, whole, food-sourcing and local and organic farming. During her training, beginning at age 16, the term "recovery" shifted to "holistic"; the skills she picked up were labeled "pharmacy cooking" as they focused on food for celiacs, diabetics, and those suffering from cancer, depression, heart disease, inflammation, and more. Eavan is a certified culinary instructor from Johnson & Wales University and a graduate of The Natural Gourmet Institute for Health and Culinary Arts. Eavan specializes in gluten-free and vegan menus. She brings her special gifts to Suppers, serving members who seek more comfortable sobriety through healing whole foods and supportive social experiences.
