Gina and Dor's Thursday Lunch for Women with Eating Disorders, Princeton (monthly) (DH003)

The focus of this meeting is manifesting healthy change in the lives of women who live with eating disorders. You are welcome to join this meeting if you have a history with anorexia or bulimia and desire to eat in a more normal way. This peer led group is ideal for women who are getting professional help for their recovery and seek support from others with similar challenges.

The simple soup and salad menu will exclude the most common trigger foods such as gluten grains, sugar and processed foods, and it will keep the food prep time to a minimum so more time can be devoted to group discussions. Vegans, vegetarians and omnivores are welcome. We hope to form a core group of regulars, to create the rapport and trust people need to be able to share with candor.

First Thursdays of the month, from 11:30 to 1:00.

About the facilitators: Dor sees the world through the lens of addiction counseling, looking out on an addictive processed food supply. Gina combines her professional life as a clinical psychologist with her own lifelong journey with food addiction and disordered eating. We want to attract people to our meeting who acknowledge they are challenged by food and who feel ready to try to manifest healthy change in their lives, specifically related to:

- Emotional eating and its triggers
- Biochemical triggers for unwanted eating
- Body image dissatisfaction
- Using restrictive eating, binge eating, purging behaviors to control weight
- The effects of our important relationships on eating and vice versa
- Honoring failure as a pathway to learning
