​Dor Mullen is the Founder of The Suppers Programs. The Suppers program design reflects her combining of counseling models learned in a Masters in Counseling program at The College of New Jersey, her background in garden-based education, her passion for preparing delicious food, and her respect for the wisdom and longevity of the 12-step process. Prior to Suppers, Dorothy was the president of the board of the Foundation for the Advancement of Innovative Medicine in New York and a holistic health care practitioner in Princeton. Dor facilitates numerous regular meetings.

SuppersLab is an 8-session focus group/pilot project to better manage blood sugar with delicious food, education and social support. The program will be run by Dr. Adi Benito and Dor Mullen.
We are looking for 6 to 10 participants who:
- have pre-diabetic to diabetic blood glucose numbers (5.6 or above) or a family history of diabetes
- can attend all 8 sessions
- are willing to try the foods we prepare
- will do small homework assignments, mostly journaling
For each session participants will gather at 6 p.m. and prepare one dish together; the rest of the meal will have been prepared ahead. We will eat a range of delicious, home-prepared whole food meals and practice making connections between what we eat and our moods, emotions, addictions and brain function. The menus are not all strict low carb menus (ketogenic is very low carb), but there will be no gluten grains, sugars, or highly processed foods. Lacto-fermented vegetables will be available at all meals. People who test their blood glucose levels are welcome to do so, but testing is not a requirement for the focus group. Dor will direct the activities, give homework assignments, and lead group clean-up, winding up at 8 p.m.
The program will begin with a pre-group survey prepared by Dr. Benito as well as a statement about our intentions and goals for participation.
We will end with a post-group survey and statement of accomplishments.

Dr. Benito is board-certified in Endocrinology, Diabetes, and Metabolism, and has a clinical practice in Princeton, NJ. She attended medical school in Spain and completed a residency in Internal Medicine at Pennsylvania Hospital (University of Pennsylvania Health System) and a fellowship in Endocrinology, Diabetes, and Metabolism at the University of Pennsylvania. She has also completed a two-year fellowship in Integrative Medicine at the University of Arizona Center of Excellence in Integrative Medicine, where she is guest faculty. She has developed the curriculum for an integrative endocrinology module which has been incorporated to the fellowship. She is a certified meditation teacher (Khalsa Healing Arts and Yoga Center) under the mentorship of Mahan Rishi Singh and Nirbhe Kaur Khalsa and she is currently studying herbal medicine at the David Winston's Center for Herbal Studies.
