Turmeric Tonic

Ingredients

2 inches
fresh turmeric root (grated on a microplane, or 2 tsp dried)

cardamom pods (crushed)
1⁄4 cup
freshly squeezed lemon juice
2 tablespoons
honey

Instructions

In a small saucepan, combine turmeric and cardamom with 2 cups water and bring to a boil. Simmer for 10 minutes, then remove from heat. Strain the liquid through a fine sieve, and add 2 more cups water.

In a small bowl, whisk lemon juice and honey to combine, then add to turmeric mixture. Chill. Serve over ice.
