Suppers at the Wellness Center

(held in a public space; free; registration required)
Location: Kendall Park, NJ
About this meeting
Suppers has launched a new monthly meeting, made possible through a partnership between The Suppers Programs, The Sand Hills Community Wellness Center, The Garden State Community Kitchen, and Grace Presbyterian Church! Join us as we meet monthly to cook and enjoy a meal while we explore topics ranging from:
- Seasonal foods to use and how to prepare them
- Health challenges like blood sugar, immunity, and the brain
- Health workshops led by experts and professionals (periodically scheduled)
- More! It's a pilot so your opinion counts!
Food preparation takes place from 6:30 to 7:30 and the meeting takes place from 7:30 to 8:30. We will have a cap for members who are interested in food preparation as this space is very large and can accommodate a big Suppers group! (Which is a wonderful thing!) Register early if you would like to help cook.
Eaters of all styles are welcome. We will always feature a tray of Wellness Center Herb Almond Crackers and will always have a vegan option as well as probiotics.
Suppers at the Wellness Center are held on the 4th Friday of every month, except in the presence of a holiday week (e.g. Memorial Day, Thanksgiving, etc.). Meetings take place in the Octagon Room of GPC from 6:30 - 8:30pm. The Sand Hills Community Wellness Center is located at 57 Sand Hills Rd, Kendall Park, New Jersey.
Grace Presbyterian Church opened up The Sand Hills Community Wellness Center in 2013 as an outreach branch of the church. Since then this partnership has offered a wide range of healing services to the community including opportunities for education as well. Pastor Beth Scibienski is a trained Reiki Master as well as a wonderful speaker and pastor, community member, mother, and grandmother. Maryann Rappa, the Director of The Wellness Center, is a Certified Professional Coach with a Masters in Counseling. She is also a member of the Board of Directors for The Garden State Community Kitchen, a non-profit organization run by our own Chef Allie, who educates youths across the state on mindful eating and healthy living. Shanti Manifase is another great member of this team, with her inspiring yoga practice and dedication to a healthy diet.
